Sitarist Anoushka Shankar says she is thrilled and proud to be one of presenters at this year’s Grammy Awards, where she is also nominated in the world music album category.

“I am thrilled and proud not only to be nominated for a 5th Grammy award for my classical album Home, but also to be the first ever Indian musician to present at the Grammy Awards Premiere Ceremony on 15th February,” Anoushka, 34, wrote on Facebook.

She has been nominated in the Best World Music Album category for her solo album ‘Home’, which is a pure Indian classical album showcasing the meditative and virtuosic qualities of the Indian raga.

‘Home’ features two ragas, one of which is a creation of her late father Ravi Shankar. This is her fifth nomination in the same category.
