A hidden camera recorded customers using the toilet in a branch of Starbucks for up to a month.

The small device was found in the ceiling of the coffee shop close to the headquarters of MI6 in south London.

Police believe the camera was planted by a voyeur who apparently captured himself on film in the process.

It had recorded several video files of members of the public using the only customer toilet at the store in Vauxhall, detectives revealed.

They believe the camera had been installed for a maximum of four weeks "for the purpose of voyeurism".

It was seized by police after a member of the public discovered it in a ceiling grate.

Releasing a picture from the hidden camera of the suspect who is wanted for questioning, a Metropolitan Police spokesman said: "The contents of the device have been examined by police, and feature a number of video files of members of the public using the toilet.

"This has also uncovered images of a male suspect, who police believe placed the camera at the location.

"At this stage there is no reason to believe these videos could have been viewed by anybody other than the police, as the device was seized at the location.

"The identity of the male who police believe placed the camera at the location is currently unknown.

"Detectives have released his image in the hope that someone will be able to identify him. No arrests have been made. Enquiries are ongoing."

Scotland Yard only released a public appeal for information over the incident on Wednesday - a year after the device was found on November 22, 2016.
