A woman was left with permanent scarring after being bitten on the face by a stranger in a "savage attack", police said.
The 18-year-old victim had left a nightclub in Kingston, south-west London, when she was approached by an unknown male, who put her in a headlock and then bit her face.
The woman required immediate medical treatment and her injuries have resulted in a permanent scar, a Metropolitan Police spokesman said.
There have been no arrests and the assault is being treated as grievous bodily harm.
Police are appealing for witnesses to the attack, which happened at around 3.30am on Sunday, 25 June, after the woman left Pryzm Nightclub in Eden Street.
Officers revealed details of the incident on Tuesday and released a picture of the unnamed woman's large scar.
The man who attacked her is described as white with blond hair.
Detective Constable Robert Wise said: "This was a savage attack that has left a young girl with a permanent scar; we urgently want to find the person responsible.
"There would have been many people who witnessed this horrible assault and I would appeal to anyone with information to contact police."
