Boris Johnson has once again turned heads in his garish garb as he ventured out for one of his regular jogs.

In what seems to be a slap-down to a previous jibe from the EU, he wore an intriguing shirt, which was all in French.

The Telegraph has translated the words on his shirt - and they seem to be references from Tintin.

All the phrases apparently are expressions used by Captain Haddock in the series.

It says: " Blistering barnacles! Shiver me timbers! Landlubbers? Old soak! Lightweight ?! Waffle iron! Coconuts! Wimp! ... Oddball! Scoundrel!..."

The Foreign Secretary wore his interesting T-shirt with a pair of bright blue floral shorts.

Earlier this year, EU officials used Tintin to mock Britain's choice to leave the European Union.

A Brussels source spotted the satirical poster hanging framed on the walls of the European Council’s Brexit task force meeting room.

The picture, a mocked up Tintin book cover entitled “Tintin and the Brexit Plan” became a social media meme earlier this year among remain supporters

The image reflects the view among many top EU officials that Brexit is an act of economic self-harm by the UK that will become apparent in the course of the negotiations.
