Police forced open Lindsay Lohan's door following an argument with her Russian fiance at her London home.

The troubled American star, 30, was heard shouting on her balcony and worried neighbours called the police after being woken by the row with 23-year-old millionaire Egor Tarabasov.

In footage obtained by The Sun and filmed in the early hours of Saturday morning, the weeping star shouts: "Get out... it's my house."

A Metropolitan Police spokeswoman said: "Police went to an address in Knightsbridge on Saturday following a report of a woman in distress.

"Officers forced entry to the address. There was no one inside. They traced the occupants and found them to be safe and well."

Police said that no crime was committed and no arrests were made.

It comes after the Mean Girls star left fans wondering if she could be pregnant when she posted an image on Twitter from her role in the 2009 film Labor Day, with the caption: "Lindsay Lohan labour pains trailer - I am pregnant!!"

She played a woman who pretends to be expecting a baby in the movie. The image and message were both later removed from Twitter.

The couple started dating in late 2015 and are thought to have become engaged in April.

Lohan's publicist has been contacted for comment.

Last month, Lohan was invited to visit Kettering to switch on the town's Christmas lights after her pro-EU tweets were criticised in Parliament.

Commons Leader Chris Grayling, a prominent Leave campaigner, said the actress "hasn't necessarily fulfilled her professional potential" since her early film successes.

And he backed calls for her to visit the Northamptonshire town to switch on the Christmas lights, adding this might turn her career around.

Tory backbencher Philip Hollobone had criticised Lohan for having "slagged off" parts of Britain which backed Brexit.

He also criticised her "fierce and offensive" tweet directed at his Kettering constituency during the EU referendum count.

Lohan tweeted strong support for Britain to remain in the EU and lashed out at Leave politicians appearing on the BBC's overnight referendum programme.
