Sonipat chosen for first football academy to be launched by Delhi Dynamos and TDI International School

Indian Super League (ISL) franchise Delhi Dynamos FC on Monday announced the launch of its first academy in partnership with TDI International School, Sonipat.

"The academy is scheduled to start from July 1. Preceding this to build the atmosphere, the club would conduct a month-long summer camp from June 1," Dynamos said in a statement.

"The academy at TDI International School would tap into the immense sporting heritage and talent which is the hallmark of Sonipat and Haryana allowing the club to identify and develop talent and reintroducing the game of football in the City," the statement added.

Nestled in a sprawling 200 acre TDI City, the academy boasts of world class infrastructure catering to age groups between six and 17 years.

The franchise also has plans to convert this academy into a residential set up in the coming years.

"We will soon be launching multiple academies in North India with an elite academy in Greater Noida which would be up and running by August this year followed by our elite residential academy with world class facilities in Ekana, Lucknow later this year," Delhi Dynamos FC president Prashant Agarwal said.

"We are also partnering with Subroto Cup, the largest grassroots tournament in India in addition to establishing permanent youth teams. Our youth team is slated to participate in this year's Gothia Cup which is the largest grassroots level competition in the world."
