Berbatov is coming back to Manchester

Bulgarian outlet Sportal.bg have claimed that ex-Manchester United star Dimitar Berbatov is on his way back to the club, where he will be spending a week under Jose Mourinho. It seems that the Bulgarian player who will be visiting Carrington is not just going to be building up his match fitness but is also interested in a coaching role in future.

Berbatov wants to train under the tutelage of Jose Mourinho and will hope to pick a thing or two from the manager in his time at Carrington.

The 35-year-old is currently a free agent and played his last match for Greek club PAOK who had signed him to a one-year contract. The player was duly released post that and is looking for clubs at the moment.

The former Premier League star has planned on visiting London with his friends from where he will head to Manchester. It seems that the player will not be going for any United game, but will be attending Manchester City’s game against Arsenal which will be played in the coming weekend.

Berbatov, who was a Manchester United player from 2008 to 2012, was signed for a massive £30.75 million and had a decorated career at the club. During his time with United, he won the Premier League twice along with the league cup and Club World Cup. The player was a part of the PFA team of the year in 2010-11, and also won the Golden Boot which he shared with fellow teammate Carlos Tevez.

After an illustrious career at Manchester United, Berbatov moved to Fulham from where he was later released. The player then went to Monaco to replace the then-injured Radamel Falcao and left the club in 2015 after the Ligue 1 club decided not to renew his contract.

The player’s interest in coaching feels natural since he has been praised by fans and critics alike due to his technical ability and footballing intelligence. With a wonderful first touch and a sweet finish, Berbatov was a much sought after player during the prime of his career.

The player was often criticised for his laid-back attitude but ultimately silenced critics with his all round game. Manchester United fans will surely welcome the player who will hope to regain match fitness at Carrington. Along the way, Berbatov will definitely want to garner as much knowledge as he can from the experienced Mourinho.

Berbatov will hope that if he ever steps into managerial shoes, he has a long and decorated career, much like his career as a player.
