With reports emerging of Cesc Fabregas' representatives trying to set up a move for the Spaniard to Real Madrid, Zinedine Zidane, the Madrid boss has quashed all such rumours regarding the 29-year-old. Fabregas was an unused sub in Chelsea's victory over West Ham and the papers have said that the player is unhappy in London and wants a return back to La Liga.

Talking to the media, Zidane commented on the Fabregas rumours, " If you want to put another central midfielder into the mix then it becomes complicated. Cesc is a great player but it is not very straightforward.

I am going to end up with a squad where three or four players do not get selected. To therefore put another player in there makes it difficult." Fabregas has also garnered interest from Juventus who are likely to fail in their pursuit of Nemanja Matic.

Real have been surprisingly silent in this transfer window with just the arrival of Marcos Asensio from loan and re-signing Alvaro Morata from Juve. With the looming transfer ban for two transfer windows over Real, it is astonishing that they are going to fight for all trophies with the same squad as the season before.

On his squad for the 2016-17 season, Zidane said, "I don't think we will be bringing players in. The squad is complete, but anything can happen. I am happy with the squad, with the players we have, and that is that."

James Rodriguez faces a question mark over his future at the club as Chelsea and Juventus seem to be interested in the Columbian. Zidane has reiterated what he had said about James' future saying, " James is here, I am happy with how he played and he will be staying here. I will always respond in the same way to that. I'm tired of having to give a response. My stance is not going to change."

A deal for Fabregas was always seeming to be not favourable for both the parties as Madrid have enough cover in midfield and Antonio Conte too has made it clear that Fabregas fits in his plants at Stamford Bridge. Conte said, " Cesc is Chelsea’s player and I’m happy with his attitude and behaviour. He must know when you are at a great team like Chelsea I have to take decisions before the game, to choose a starting 11."
