Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain became the second England international to leave Arsenal in two days when he joined Premier League rivals Liverpool for a reported 40 million pounds on Thursday.

The 24-year-old midfielder, who made 132 Premier League appearances for the Gunners since joining from Southampton in 2011, agreed a long-term contract, Liverpool said in a statement on their website on transfer deadline day.

On Wednesday, Arsenal's 27-year-old left back Kieran Gibbs joined West Bromwich Albion on a four-year deal.

Liverpool have beaten off champions Chelsea to land Oxlade-Chamberlain, who becomes manager Juergen Klopp's fourth major signing of the summer.

Oxlade-Chamberlain underwent a medical on Wednesday at England's St George's Park training camp where the squad are preparing for World Cup qualifiers against Malta and Slovakia.

"Firstly, I'm delighted to have signed for Liverpool and a big thank you to everyone here at the FA that has made this possible, using the facilities. It has been a massive help," Oxlade-Chamberlain told the Liverpool website.

"...I'm here with England and we've got two big games coming up, so I want to focus on them. But I can't wait to get to (Liverpool's training ground) Melwood," added the player, who had only one season left on his contract with the north London club.

Oxlade-Chamberlain never completely took off at Arsenal where he was used in a variety of roles, most effectively as right-sided midfielder. He managed only nine league goals.

Liverpool have also signed Mohamed Salah from Roma and Hull City left back Andrew Roberston, and on Wednesday they sealed a deal for RB Leipzig's Guinea midfielder Naby Keita, who will join the Anfield club at the end of the season.

Swansea clinch loan signing of Bayern's Renato Sanches

a City pulled off an audacious loan deal for Bayern Munich’s Portuguese midfielder Renato Sanches, agreeing a season-long arrangement with the German champions.

Former Benfica player Sanches was part of Portugal’s triumphant Euro 2016 squad and was named as player of the tournament after a series of dazzling displays.

However, his move to Bayern for an initial 27.5 million pounds ($35.4 million), was far from smooth and he had limited chances to impress last season in the Bundesliga.

“We’re delighted we’ve been able to conclude the loan deal with Swansea City,” Bayern’s chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said on the club’s website on Thursday.

Bayern said there was no option to make the deal permanent, but the arrival of Sanches for a season is a huge boost to the Welsh club who lost their most prized asset Gylfi Sigurdsson to Everton earlier in August.

France striker Kylian Mbappe has joined Paris St Germain on loan from AS Monaco with an option to buy the player at the end of the season, PSG said.

"Paris Saint-Germain is delighted to announce the immediate arrival of Kylian Mbappe. The international French striker is transferred on a loan basis from AS Monaco until June 30 2018," the club said in a statement.

"The loan agreement also includes a call option for Paris Saint-Germain which, when exercised, will bind the player to Paris Saint-Germain until June 30 2022."

Argentine striker Alario joins Leverkusen

Bayer Leverkusen have reached a deal to sign Argentine striker Lucas Alario from River Plate, the German club said.

"The 24-year-old international has invoked his buyout clause at River Plate Buenos Aires with the support of the Bundesliga side and the transfer fee has now been paid. That means the player is no longer under contract," the club said on their website.

They added on Twitter: "The transfer not yet 100 per cent finalised, but will be in the coming days. The striker's release clause has been met and once he is officially released by the Argentine Football Association, we can expect him in Leverkusen.’

Alario was part of the River side that won the Copa Libertadores in 2015. He has three full caps.

Liverpool striker Origi moves to Wolfsburg on loan

Liverpool striker Divock Origi has been loaned to German side VfL Wolfsburg for the season, the Premier League club said.

Liverpool signed Origi from Lille in 2014 and he joined the club the following season. He has scored 21 goals in 77 appearances since arriving in England.

"The Belgium international striker will spend the 2017-18 campaign with the Bundesliga outfit after a temporary switch was agreed between the clubs on transfer deadline day," Liverpool said on their website.

Origi was a substitute in Liverpool's 3-3 draw with Watford in their first Premier League game of the season, but has not made the squad for the last two matches.

Roberto Firmino is Liverpool manager Juergen Klopp's first-choice striker. England international Daniel Sturridge is behind the Brazilian in the pecking order.

Liverpool signed England youth international forward Dominic Solanke from Chelsea earlier in the window and also have striker Danny Ings closing in on full fitness after two injury-disrupted seasons.

Watford sign goalkeeper Karnezis on loan

Watford have completed the signing of Greece international goalkeeper Orestis Karnezis from Italian side Udinese on a season-long loan deal, the Premier League club said.

The 32-year-old joined Udinese from Greece's Panathinaikos in 2013 and has made over 100 appearances for the Serie A club.

Manager Marco Silva's side now have four keepers fighting for a starting spot, with new recruits Karnezis and Daniel Bachmann, who joined from Stoke City in July, competing with veteran Heurelho Gomes and Romanian Costel Pantilimon.

Karnezis, who has 42 caps for Greece, previously won the Greek league and domestic Cup title with Panathinaikos.
