A look back at a few other occasions Akki bling-ed it up for the cameras.

Where fashion goes, it's not just his bestselling author missus but even the “man of the house” cuts a dapper picture.

Akshay Kumar is an effortless clotheshorse. Anything and everything looks good on him.

While his personal wardrobe reflects stylish sophistication, he goes wild experimenting with his looks for silver screen. From bubblegum pink pathan suits to shiny silver bodysuits, he's worn it all.

Sporting ornate gold turbans and bright baubles, the star is appropriately flashy in the promos of his brand new entertainer -- Singh is Bling releasing on October 2.

We look back at a few other occasions Akki bling-ed it up for the cameras.

De Dana Dan

Akshay's worked with director Priyadarshan on six projects.

While De Dana Dan is nowhere close to the success of Hera Pheri, Garam Masala or Bhool Bhulaiyaa, it's got him in a costume-y part-mythological hero get-up -- cheap crown et al raving and ranting about Paisa along side Katrina Kaif.

Tees Maar Khan

Playing a sneaky conman in Farah Khan's Tees Maar Khan, a reworking of Peter Sellers' After the Fox didn't get Akshay the accolades he was hoping for. Actually, the film was a complete misfire among both critics and public.

Botched swindling aside, the actor sure knows how to pull off a bright gold Burberry trench coat like few can. He liked it so much, you'll notice him wear the same coat on the poster of Singh is Kinng and an episode of the stunts-based reality show he hosted, Khatron Ke Khiladi too.

Singh is Kinng

Speaking of Singh is Kinng, Akshay's flamboyant Sardar lives it up in a wardrobe of fancy, embellished sherwanis and glittery kalgi (brooch) pinned on his trendy turban.

It was only a matter of time before Singh is Bling took his glitzy styling a step further.

Mohra

Bollywood's brand of masala movies doesn't have any space for logic. And so even no-nonsense cops are forced to shake their butt in shiny, glittery costumes around an equally shimmering heroine.

Precisely what Akshay demonstrates whilst gyrating to the Mohra chartbuster Tu Cheez Badi Hai Mast Mast wearing a super duper sparkly vest and George Michael's Faith-inspired bling.

Patiala House

As the son pursuing cricket against his adamant father's will, Akshay's restrained performance in NRI family drama, Patiala House marked a welcome departure from his bombastic comic avatars.

Even though he's somber for most part, the man gets a chance to let his hair down and flaunt his jhataaak Punjabi munda roots to the hilt.

Tashan

Easily our best and (blingiest) takeaway from the wishy-washy Tashan, Akshay's Bachchan Pandey is all things over the top.

Ever game to play to the gallery, the kitsch-loving Khiladi amps it up for his disguise ditty, Dance Maare Re.

Action Replayy

In this mish mash of retro meets time travel meets rom com, Akshay Kumar doesn't leave any stone unturned to look his most unappealing before the inevitable (read ostentatious) transformation.

But, of course, nothing spells makeover in Hindi movies like chintzy rhinestone and sequin-gilded jackets.

Dancer

A pop singer in Hindi movies is not quite a pop singer unless he's belted out a snazzy stage dance donning a striking metallic bodysuit.

Akshay enthusiastically obliges in and as Dancer, one of his awkward early movies before the Khiladi breakthrough.

Oh look, Mr Chamko is at it again. Yep, same movie.

Even his boots have glittery stuff all over them. Now that's just too much bling to pass up.
