The Dream Girl has a beautiful voice as well!

We have seen Hema Malini dance and fallen in love with her grace.

Now, the veteran actress has launched a special devotional album for Janmashtami called Gopala Ko Samarpan.

She unveiled the album over the weekend at the ISKCON Temple in Juhu, a western Mumbai suburb.

The actress-turned-politician has sung eight bhajans for the album, and even sang live at the event.

A look at the pictures. Do watch her sing in the video.

"The entire credit (for the album) goes to (poet) Narayan Agarwal, a Krishna bhakt, who is known for bringing out the best of Jagjit Singh and Anup Jalota bhajans," Hema Malinisays at the event. "When Narayanji asked me to sing eight tracks for this album, I was hesitant as I am not a professional singer, and did not want to do anything in a half-hearted manner. But he insisted that I should listen to the compositions first, before taking the final call."

After hearing the compositions she feels she realised its importance.

"You don't get to share platform with legends like Pandit Jasrajji, Hariparsadji, Rajan Sajanji and Shiv Kumar Sharmaji that often," she continues. "And when such stalwarts have composed the tunes, then it was a tremendous pressure on me to perform well. Besides every track is differently composed, keeping the mood and situations in mind. I did riyaaz for six months."

Watch her sing in the video below:

Daughter Esha Deol and son-in-law Bharat Takhtani, who will soon become parents, made sure to attend.

There's a story behind this picture.

By what we've understood, Esha, sitting in the audience, gestured to her mother that they wanted to leave. Mommy discreetly gestured, 'Don't go.'

Hemaji with lyricist of the album Narayan Agarwal, Shankar Mahadevan, Anu Malik, Suresh Wadkar, Bhushan, Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia and Soordas Prabhu launch the album.

Narayan Agarawal, who penned eight lyrics for this album, has been a devotee of Lord Krishna and wanted Hema to be a part of this album. "Since the time, I heard her chanting Soundarya Lahiri in an album couple of years ago, I knew that she would sing bhajans beautifully. Her Sanskrit pronunciation is impeccable and that's vital for any recitation."

She's the queen of expressions!

"Everyone is becoming a singer here and releasing their album in Bollywood. But before anyone could comment and have doubts whether I have really sung in the album, I decided to sing live in front of the audience, as the devotional songs of praise came from inside my heart," Hema Malini says.
