'Director Ravi Babu is like a monk – he has a pure approach towards the film.'

'I would like to do a film with him every year.'

Telugu actor Harshavardhan Rane talks about working with director Ravi Babu in Avunu 2.

Harshavardhan Rane, who acted in Avunu (2012), also acts in its sequel Avunu 2, which releases on April 3. His co-star in both films is Poorna.

Harshvardhan talks to Radhika Rajamani about Avunu 2.

Do you play the same role of a software guy in Avunu2?

It’s the same guy. His mannerisms and body language remain the same.

What was it like working with Ravi Babu?

I developed more respect for him after this. Ravi Sir’s biggest blessing is his clarity.

He is like a monk – he has a pure approach towards the film.

He is good at ideating, planning and execution.

He has each shot in his head. Technically, he’s in the top league.

I would like to do a film with him every year. It is like revising, learning and updating myself.

How different is the second film from the first?

The predominant factor is the same, the flavour is the same but the treatment is different.

The colour palette is the same but the painting will be different.

How was it acting with Poorna the second time around?

It was great. It was comfortable working with her.

She is a talented actress and does complete justice to the film.

The poster of the film is intriguing...with the elephants...

This time there are two elephants. The director sees this as a metaphor for fear.

I love the way he works on his posters, to intrigue audiences.

What are you doing now?

The Hindi film Satra Ko Shaadi Hai is complete.

I have signed a three-film contract with John Abraham Entertainment and Satra Ko Shaadi Hai is the first.

There is a Telugu film on the anvil.

I am presenting another short film. It is supporting the cause of no-smoking and is in post-production.
