Freida PintoA look at the top tweets from your favourite Bollywood celebrities:

The Indian government has blocked the broadcast of the documentary India's Daughter and several celebrities turned to Twitter to share their views:

Freida Pinto: Airing the truth a crime? How? #IndiasDaughter is a wake up call to global action. It doesnt shame the nation. Rape shames the nation!! How can we change mindsets if we don't know what we are up against? Facts are a reality we need to face head on and tackle. Proud to be part of this documentary film that dares to examine the mindset of the rapists!

Pritish Nandy: We give a journalist permission to interview a rapist held in prison. When she does the interview and it's broadcast, we ban it. Wah!

Prakash Jha: Extremely insensitive to interview the Rapist..It's like opening a cancerous wound for every one to see..We know the rapist is sick but you? #NirbhayaInsulted You Rape becoz U think U can and then get away with it.. I Must somehow put it into your Head that NO YOU CANNOT.. Period! Yes, we are a Very Sick society..But tell me, can listening to the absurd carnal reasoning of a Rapist be any cure for it? Freedom of Expression With Responsibility is what I believe in! I will speak the Truth but never disrespect & humiliate.

Pooja Bedi: Murderer Charles Sobhraj writes a book ..brutal rapists giving "exclusive" interviews.why r we giving criminals mileage? If u were brutally raped.. &UR CONVICTED rapist spoke on TV about how u should have laid back &not fought. How wld u feel?

Gul Panag: Shouldn't we confront the evil, instead of wishing it away. What can be more horrific than the crime itself?

Ashoke Pandit: Thank you I&B ministry for your advisory to channels to not screen the #BBC documentary.

Made by filmmaker Leslee Udwin, the documentary explores the causes of the inhuman crime against Nirbhaya and the changes in India after the incident. A worldwide India's Daughter campaign against sexual violence and gender inequality will be launched on Monday in New York by Meryl Streep, Anne Hathaway, Freida Pinto and others.
