Bollywood gives Shashi Kapoor a final salute.

Shashi Kapoor passed into the ages on Monday, December 4.

Family, friends, colleagues and admirers attended his funeral on Tuesday, December 5.

Many more attended the prayer service at the Prithvi Theatre -- the hallowed institution Jennifer and Shashi Kapoor created and nourished in Juhu, north west Mumbai.

 

Karan Kapoor -- Shashiji's younger son -- arrives at Prithvi Theatre with his aunt, actress Felicity Kendal. Felicity was Jennifer's younger sister.

Felicity acted with Shashiji in Merchant-Ivory's Shakespeare Wallah, which also featured Jennifer and her parents, thespians Laura and Geoffrey Kendal.

 

Sanjana Kapoor, Shashiji's only daughter who ran Prithvi Theatre till a few years ago.

 

Kunal Kapoor, Shashiji's eldest son.

 

Zahan Kapoor, Shashiji's elder grandson.

Neetu Kapoor who starred with Shashiji in several movies and later married his nephew Rishi Kapoor.

 

 

Karisma Kapoor -- Shashiji's grand niece -- arrives with her mother Babita, who also starred with the late legend.

 

Randhir Kapoor, Shashiji's eldest nephew and Karisma's dad.

 

Neela Devi -- who was married to Shashiji's brother Shammi Kapoor -- with his niece Reema Jain, Raj Kapoor's youngest daughter.

 

Aadar Jain, Reema's younger son.

 

Krishna Raj Kapoor, Shashiji's elder sister-in-law and the matriarch of the Kapoor khandaan.

 

Rajiv Kapoor, Shashiji's nephew and Raj Kapoor's youngest child.

 

Vivaan Shah whose father Naseeruddin Shah acted opposite Shashiji in Shyam Benegal's Junoon.

 

Kunal Kemmu and Soha Ali Khan. Soha's mum Sharmila Tagore was Shashiji's co-star and old friend.

Govind Nihalani, who directed Vijeta for Shashiji.

Major Rohit Suri who led last year's surgical strikes told the authors in the recent book India's Most Fearless: True Stories of Modern Military Heroes that Vijeta inspired him to join the Indian Army.
