iPhone X, Apple's first smartphone to feature a full-screen display, went on sale from November 3 amid great demand.

The iPhone X not only comes with an expensive price tag, of Rs 89,000 and Rs 1,02,000 for the 64GB and 256GB variants, respectively, but any accidental drops could damage the near bezel-less display, and that will cost you a bomb.

Based on a MacRumours report, screen replacement on iPhone X will cost you around Rs 18,300 compared to screen replacement for the iPhone 8, which will cost around Rs 11,000. The same for the iPhone 6 costs around Rs 8,300.

If the phone is out of warranty then repairs will cost you around Rs 35,700.

Twisted light could make data transfer ultra fast

Optical fibre is currently the fastest mode of data transfer. But it's deployment and price are still major drawbacks.

Researchers have now found a way to remove cables from the picture altogether.

Scientists have found a way of using twisted light as a form of wireless, high-capacity data transmission.

In their words, they can twist photons by passing them through a special hologram, giving the photons an optical angular momentum.

Digital communications uses photons as 0s and 1s to carry information, while the twists in the photons allows them to carry additional data -- which results in creating higher bandwidth. But transmitting twisted light across open spaces is a challenge.

The researchers have tested their tech over a 1.6 km long space in Germany, where the light beam had to pass through tall building and obstacles. It's assumed that light beam can cope with real life environments, which makes the data transfer faster and cheaper
