The first time Samsung introduced dual front selfie camera was in A8 Plus which was priced at ₹ 30,990.

Now, Samsung is again delving into the dual camera segment with the Samsung J7 Duo, a phone under ₹ 20k bracket.

So what's new in the Samsung J7 Duo?

The primary camera on the rear has a dual camera setup of 13MP+5MP with f/1.9 wide aperture.

Wider aperture provides better the low light photography, as it takes in more light. But it's not always the aperture that helps take better photographs, but the contribution of image processor and other camera hardware.

The 8MP front camera in the J7 Duo also comes with a wide aperture of f/1.9 and LED flash to shoot selfies in dark.

To keep up with modern requirements the front camera support background blur in portrait mode and also feature face unlock.

The modern feature does not reflect in design as the phone's display has 16:9 aspect ratio.

Samsung smartly incorporates a 5.5 inch HD Super AMOLED display.

The fingerprint sensor lies at the bottom chin of the phone rather than on the rear like most modern phones.

The phone runs on Samsung's in house Exynos 7 Series Octa Core processor backed up by 4GB RAM and 32GB ROM and support expandable storage slot.

The phone is powered by 3000 mAh battery and comes with Android Oreo out of the box.

The phone will be available from April 12, 2018 in stores across India.

With the J7 Duo, Samsung will be competing with Nokia, known for its well-built phones, the Xiaomi for its high-end features at lower price or Motorola with top features and true Android experience. Phones from Vivo and Oppo also give premium features on budget.

Samsung J7 Duo with its old design and niggard features from price point of view falls short to attract the masses, but it is to be seen how well the phone performs in reality.
