When Kim Kardashian almost bared it all for GQ: A cover by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott.
The Reality TV star teased the world with another nude photograph shot by the duo to announce the launch of their new book.

Habitual break-the-internet Reality TV star Kim Kardashian has done it again. This time with a classy nude shot by famous fashion photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott.

The black-and-white shot shows Kim, wearing only boots, up on a tree and looking into the distance.

Kim -- who is also in the news for reportedly expecting her third child with husband Kanye West via a surrogate -- shared the photograph on Instagram, saying: 'So honoured to have been photographed by Mert and Marcus for their book new book! 20 years in the making!'

The book, simply titled Mert Alas & Marcus Piggott, 'explores the unique vision of a creative partnership that has defined and redefined standards for glamour, fashion, and luxury,' according to its publisher, Taschen.

It includes approximately 300 images from the megawatt Mert and Marcus portfolio.

Taschen added, 'These days, Mert and Marcus shape the global image of such renowned brands as Giorgio Armani, Roberto Cavalli, Fendi, Miu Miu, Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent, Givenchy and Lancome, and public figures, including Lady Gaga, Madonna, Jennifer Lopez, Linda Evangelista, Gisele Bundchen, Björk, Angelina Jolie, and Rihanna. Their photographs encompass a wide range of styles and influences, but are renowned particularly for their use of digitized augmentation of images, and a fascination for strong, sexually-charged, confident female subjects: "powerful women, women with a meaning, a you-don't-have-to-talk-or-move-too-much-to-tell-who-you-are kind of woman".'

Mert and Marcus, who are former romantic partners, have worked together for 20 years.

Taschen said, 'Mert Alas, born in Turkey, and Marcus Piggott, born in Wales, met in 1994, at a party on a pier in Hastings, England. Piggott asked Alas for a light, the pair got talking, and rapidly discovered they had plenty in common, not least a love of fashion. Three years later, the duo now known as Mert and Marcus had moved into a derelict loft in East London, converted it into a studio, and had their first collaborative photographic work published in Dazed & Confused.'

This is their first retrospective book.

Piggott told WWD that the book took them about two or three years to put together, 'as he and Alas revisited the edit "every time we would shoot something new".'

The final choice is a combination of unpublished photos and ones that have appeared in famous publications like Vogue, W Magazine and Interview Magazine.

Alas told WWD, 'Many of these images hold a special place for us, special memories and moments in time as we were making our voices heard in the art and fashion worlds.'

And Piggott added, 'Behind every shot there is a story.'

The book also features supermodel Kate Moss, another Mert and Marcus muse. This photograph of Moss was shot in 2009 for Love magazine.

The photo Kim Kardashian -- a good friend of the photographers, especially Mert Alas -- teased us with on Instagram is among the ones chosen for the book, which features several famous 'Mert and Marcus' nudes.

Among the famous faces who have posed nude for them are supermodels Kate Moss, Naomi Campbell, Gigi Hadid, Kristen McMenamy, Stephanie Seymour and Lara Stone.

Alas told WWD, 'Nude photography is the composition of human form and desire. I'm not interested in the body as a sculpture or bare skin as flesh. It's a combination of bravery and precision, the power of the human body.'

And in Kim Kardashian they found one of their best muses.

Last year, on the occasion of International Women's Day, Kim had blogged about her nude photographs to shut down the haters.

She had written, 'In all seriousness, I never understand why people get so bothered by what other people choose to do with their lives. I don't do drugs, I hardly drink, I've never committed a crime -- and yet I'm a bad role model for being proud of my body?

'... I am empowered by my body. I am empowered by my sexuality. I am empowered by feeling comfortable in my skin. I am empowered by showing the world my flaws and not being afraid of what anyone is going to say about me. And I hope that through this platform I have been given, I can encourage the same empowerment for girls and women all over the world...

'I feel so lucky to have grown up surrounded by strong, driven, independent women. The life lessons I've learned from my sisters, my mother and my grandmother, I will pass along to my daughter. I want her to be proud of who she is. I want her to be comfortable in her body. I don't want her to grow up in a world where she is made to feel less-than for embracing everything it means to be a woman...

'The body-shaming and slut-shaming -- it's like, enough is enough. I will not live my life dictated by the issues you have with my sexuality. You be you and let me be me.

'I am a mother. I am a wife, a sister, a daughter, an entrepreneur and I am allowed to be sexy.'

The book released yesterday, and is due in stores next month.
