Dharamsala Test: Tendulkar impressed by debutant Kuldeep's heroics

It is every cricketer's dream to be acknowledged by Sachin Tendulkar, and spinner Kuldeep Yadav who made his Test debut against Australia on Saturday, was showered with praise by the cricket legend as he weaved a wrist spinner's web around the tourists during the decisive fourth Test in Dharamsala.

Taking to Twitter, Tendulkar expressed his admiration for the young bowler who managed to scalp three crucial wickets and spin Australia into trouble.

“I am impressed with @imkuldeep18's variations and the way he has started. Keep going strong, this can be your match to shine,” the legendary batsman wrote on his Twitter handle.

Kuldeep also received from other names of the cricket world.

India batsman Rohit Sharma wrote on his Twitter page: "New mystery guy in the house @imkuldeep18 #Magical."

Former India off-spinner Harbhajan Singh tweeted: "Welldone @imkuldeep18 for making a dream debut..magical bowling. may god be with you.. god bless..keep shining."

Another former India spinner Murali Kartik wrote on his Twitter handle: "Wonderful beginning for a debutant.. 2 very good wickets &the way he has bowled.. Way to go.. God bless #KuldeepYadav."

Former Australia captain Michael Clarke also tweeted: "This has been a magnificent spell of bowling from the young man Kuldeep."

Kuldeep, who came in as a replacement for injured skipper Virat Kohli, claimed the wickets of David Warner, Handscombe, Glenn Maxwell  and Pat Cummins.

In reply, India were 0-0 (1 over) at close of play on Day 1.

Kuldeep took four scalps as Australia were all out for 300 in their first innings in the third session.

Australian innings were held together by captain Smith, who scored a steady century, ‘keeper Matthew Wade (57) and opener David Warner, who chipped in beautiful 56 runs.

Earlier, Australian captain Steve Smith won the toss and elected to bat.

Left-arm spinner Kuldeep Yadav made his Test debut as India went back to five bowler theory with Bhuvneshwar Kumar replacing Ishant Sharma. The series is currently locked at 1-1.
