New Delhi, March 6 : MPs belonging to the AIADMK, DMK and Left parties on Tuesday staged a demonstration near the Gandhi statue in Parliament House complex demanding immediate setting up of the Cauvery Water Management Board as per the directions of the Supreme Court judgment.

Holding placards, the MPs shouted slogans warning against "injustice" to the state.

Later, DMK MP Tiruchi N Siva asked why Prime Minister Narendra Modi was refusing to meet an-all party delegation from Tamil Nadu on the Cauvery issue when he could meet such delegations from other states.

He said an apprehension arose in the minds of the people of Tamil Nadu whether this reluctance on the part of the Prime Minister had anything to do with the coming Assembly elections in Karnataka, which was opposed to the setting up of the Board.
