Bhubaneswar, Jan 22 : Odisha Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik was on Monday given a rousing reception by Biju Janata Dal (BJD) workers for receiving the 'Ideal Chief Minister' award from an institute in Maharashtra.

After the Chief Minister arrived at the Biju Patnaik International Airport (BPIA) here, thousands of people, including Ministers, MLAs and MPs of the ruling party, took Patnaik in a procession to Naveen Niwas, the latter's residence.

"I am indebted for your love and affection. I dedicate the award to my dear people of the state," Patnaik said.

He urged the people to work hard to make Odisha the number one state in the country.

Huge posters and banners have been put up at various places in the city by the BJD to highlight the "achievement".

Patnaik received the award from former President of India Pratibha Devi Patil on Sunday at the 8th Bhartiya Chhatra Sansad organised by the MIT World Peace University (MIT WPU) and Pune's MIT School of Government.
