Kolkata, Jan 18 : West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee on Thursday announced a TV academy would come in the South 24 Parganas district within the next one year.

Banerjee, who was present at a small screen award ceremony in the city, said the tele-academy would be built in South 24 Pargana's Baruipur.

"We would built a tele-academy in Baruipur to extend our support to the television industry. it would be completed in a year," she said.

The Chief Minister also said the government was raising the medical insurence for the state's television artistes and technicians from Rs 1.5 lakh to Rs 2.5 lakh annually.
