New Delhi, Nov 22 : Two drug addicts have been arrested on charge of murdering a youth when he resisted a robbery attempts in east Delhi, police said on Wednesday.

Mohammad Shadab, 20, and Vivek Mishra, 20, of Ghonda in east Delhi had allegedly killed Lokender Kumar on November16-17 night in Bhajanpura.

They were arrested on Tuesday night near Jafrabad Road and a stolen motorcycle, six snathced mobile phones and a countrymade pistol were seized from them," Deputy Commissioner of Police Devender Arya said.

Both are 'ganja' addicts and earlier worked as salesmen in a garment shop in Maujpur but were unemployed for the last three months.

They were involved in many robberies and snatchings to meet expenses on their daily fix of 'ganja' (derivative of marijuana). They often looked for soft targets like students and senior citizens whom they could easily rob, Arya said.

They accosted Lokender at Tikona Park and tried to snatch his mobile phone, laptop, and wallet. Lokender, who was preparing for a competitive examination, resisted them, following which Vivek shot him dead and both escaped with his belongings, the officer added.
