New Delhi, July 12 : A domestic help and his accomplice have been arrested for the murder of a woman and looting of cash and jewellery worth Rs 20 lakh from her south Delhi house, police said on Wednesday.

Accused servant Roshan and his accomplice Shesh Narain Rawat were arrested from the former's house in Atta village in Noida.

Manak Lal Kala, who runs a transport business in Faridabad, complained to Lajpat Nagar police about the murder of his wife Sarita Devi at their house on the second floor of National Park locality in Lajpat Nagar on Tuesday afternoon.

"Roshan, who was hired by the family a month ago but whose police verification was not yet done, executed the crime by ensuring a friendly entry for his four accomplices -- Beni Prasad Yadav, Arvind, Rawat, and Sonu. They strangled Sarita Devi after tying her and other servant Rajan," Deputy Commissioner of Police Romil Baaniya said.

"Police found that Roshan was active on Facebook with an assumed name of Balram. Police questioned around 100 persons, including those from various placement agencies, and some of his friends seen with him in pictures posted on Facebook, and also put him under technical surveillance," the officer added.

Roshan, a native of Uttar Pradesh, told police that in order lead a lavish lifestyle, he hatched the plan to murder his employer's wife, he added.

Police is looking for others involved in the crime.
