Mumbai, June 27 : Five newcomers will be part of the Gen Next segment of the Lakmé Fashion Week (LFW) Winter/Festive 2017.

Lakme and IMG Reliance made the announcement via a statement on Tuesday.

The mentoring platform, which has given the Indian fashion industry names like Rahul Mishra, Masaba Gupta and Aneeth Arora among others, will groom its 24th batch of five designers who have been chosen by the members of the LFW advisory board.

Akshat Bansal, Deepak Pathak, Sumiran Kabir Sharma, Shenali Sema N' Rinzin Lama and Saaksha Parekh & Kinnari Kamat are the new faces who have grabbed the chance this time, read the statement.

"LFW has always believed in promoting and encouraging designers who have the potential to be the future of fashion. Just like our past seasons, this season will also see a host of Gen Next designers showcasing their pathbreaking designs on the runway," said Purnima Lamba, Head of Innovations, Lakme.
