Chennai, June 13 : PMK leader Anbumani Ramadoss on Tuesday condemned the attack on a team of Tamil Nadu government officials by cow vigilantes in Barmer, Rajasthan, and demanded they be brought to book.

The Tamil Nadu government officials had gone to Rajasthan to procure cows to increase milk production in the state. However, they were attacked by a group of people despite having the necessary papers, which is highly condemnable, Ramadoss said.

He also accused the Rajasthan Police of not coming forward to protect the Tamil Nadu government officials and the cattle they were transporting.

"Such unlawful acts should not be allowed to go free and the attackers should be punished," Ramadoss said.

Ther team of officials of Tamil Nadu Animal Husbandry Department was attacked by cow vigilantes on the suspicion that they were smuggling cows for slaughter on Sunday night in Barmer district.
