New Delhi, May 24 : Five burglars involved in stealing new mobile phones from shops in south Delhi were arrested on Wednesday and 81 new mobile phones seized from them, the city police said.

Feroz, Tarif, Mohit, and Roshan, in the age group of 20-25, were arrested from their hideouts in Nangloi after gang kingpin Rashid was arrested with 78 mobile phones from the Ambedkar Nagar area.

"On Rashid's tip-off, police raided their hideout in west Delhi and arrested four others," Deputy Commissioner of Police Romil Baaniya said.

Rashid told the police they stayed during day in Roshan's rented house in Nangloi but committed thefts during nights in south Delhi," Baaniya added.

Roshan is a resident of Nangloi while others are natives of Ata Mainpuri in Uttar Pradesh.
