New Delhi, May 24 : The IAF on Wednesday rejected claims by the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) that its fighter jets had flown over the Siachen glacier.
"There is no reported airspace violation," Indian Air Force (IAF) sources said in response to Pakistan's claim of its fighter jets having flown over the glacier which is in India's control.
Pakistani media reports said PAF fighter jets flew near the Siachen glacier on Wednesday morning.
According to Samaa TV channel, Chief of Air Staff Sohail Aman, accompanied by the PAF's top leadership, paid a visit to the forward airbase in Skardu where he met pilots and technical staff while a fighter squadron carried out higher and lower altitude flights. Aman himself flew a Mirage jet.
Skardu is around 140 km from the over-5,500 metre Siachen Glacier, once the world's highest battlefield..
The report quoting sources also said that all of the forward operating bases of the PAF have been made fully operational.
The claim comes a day after the Indian Army released a video of Pakistan's post across the Line of Control being attacked in Naushera sector of Jammu and Kashmir. Pakistan denied that its post was attacked and accused India of ceasefire violation.
Last week, Indian Air Force Chief Air Chief Marshal B.S. Dhanoa had sent individual letters to over 12,000 personnel of the IAF to be prepared for operations at short notice.
