Chennai, May 23 : Actor Vignesh, who played one of the brothers in critically acclaimed Tamil film "Kaaka Muttai", says turning hero with upcoming Tamil drama "Kuzhali" has come with a sense of responsibility.

"I'm excited and equally nervous. When I did 'Kaaka Muttai', I didn't worry much about how people will receive me because I was just playing a character. In 'Kuzhali', I'm going solo and the entire film rests on my shoulders. Turning hero comes with great responsibility," Vignesh told IANS.

He plays his age, a 16-year-old boy in the film, which also stars child actress-turned-heroine Esther Anil.

The film is being directed by Chera Kalaiyarasan, and is currently on the floors.

Talking about his character, Vignesh said: "It's a coming-of-age love story and when I was pitched the story, I wasn't sure if I could handle it. If not for my director's faith in me, I wouldn't have taken up this offer."
Vignesh is good at imitating most leading heroes. He says his talent has come in very handy.

"Since I'm very comfortable at imitating, it's become easier for me to imitate what my director does. He explains a scene and shows me how to perform and I just blindly follow him. At times, he tells me where he would want me to do something on my own," he added.

On working with his co-star Esther, a very popular child artist in Malayalam filmdom, he said: "I was quite nervous because she has already done about 50 films. I have just started my career. She was very friendly and made me comfortable from the first day."
Vignesh will also be seen playing a crucial role in Nayanthara's upcoming thriller "Aramm".
