Ghaziabad, April 30 : IPS officer Akash Tomar, appointed Ghaziabad's Superintendent of Police, City in the major administrative reshuffle by Uttar Pradesh's Yogi Aditynath government, has taken over charge.

The 2013-batch Indian Police Service officer said his effort would be to maintain the high level of service to the people set by his predecessors and his priority would be to provide justice to the deprived sections, as per the mandate of the present government.

Attending his first press interaction with new Senior Superintendent of Police H.N. Singh, he said he is taking stock of the nature of crimes being committed in the city so that he could chalk out a strategy of preventive measures.

Tomar has earlier served as ADC to the Governor of Uttar Pradesh and Additional Superintendent of Police at Kanpur, Bareilly and Jaunpur.
