New Delhi, April 19 : Popular couturiers Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla are set to host their first jewellery preview with Gehna Jewellers here on Friday. They say they are passionate about design in all forms.
Gehna Jewellers has collaborated with ASAL by Abu Sandeep, the label by designers Abu and Sandeep, to present a collection, ASAL by Abu Sandeep for Gehna.
Much like their work in fashion, traditional jewellery concepts of necklace sets, earrings, bangles and rings have been entirely reimagined through their artistic eye. Old world charm has been reinvented for the 21st century.
Abu Jani and Sandeep Khosla told IANS: "We are passionate about design in all forms. To create in new mediums is a compulsion for any artist. This collection of jewellery is our passion for beauty expressed through a new medium."
"It was a purely instinctive decision. We were keen to create something that was high on concept and packed with style, romance and glamour and yet price conscious, much like our fashion label, ASAL by Abu Sandeep, which is diffusion as opposed to couture."
The collection is inspired by two iconic Indian flowers, the lotus and mogra or Indian Jasmine. Polki is a passion and the designers wanted to pay homage to it in their own way. Stand out pieces include the 'between the finger' ring.
