Shimla, Feb 20 : The hills of picturesque tourist resorts Manali and Shimla on Monday saw rainfall, while high hills in Himachal Pradesh received a fresh spell of snowfall.

Shimla and its upper reaches like Kufri, Narkanda, Jubbal and Kotkhai received rain, according to a meteorological official here. The temperatures across the state fell marginally.

The hills overlooking Manali got mild spells of snow.

The high hills in Lahaul and Spiti, Kinnaur, Kullu, Shimla and Chamba districts have been experiencing light to moderate snowfall since Monday morning, said a weather department official.

The minimum temperature in Shimla was 7.5 degrees Celsius and 3.4 degrees in Manali, which saw 21.6 mm of rain.

Kalpa in Kinnaur district was the coldest place in the state with a minimum temperature of 0.8 degree Celsius. It too recorded 3.6 cm of snowfall.

Dalhousie in Chamba district experienced 12 mm of rainfall, while it was 3.6 mm in Dharamsala.

The Met Office has forecast partly cloudy conditions with spells of rain and snow in the state till Tuesday.
