Chennai, Feb 20 : Actress Aanchal Munjal, last seen on screen in "Ghayal Once Again", says she didn't feel sidelined while working on her upcoming maiden Tamil project "Sei".

She says she was accepted whole-heartedly by the unit.

"The whole unit, especially the director and cinematographer, was very friendly. I've heard stories that people down south aren't polite to north Indians when they don't know Tamil. Thankfully, I didn't face any bad experience. I never felt sidelined," Aanchal told IANS.

The script of "Sei" motivated her to sign the project, even though she hasn't followed southern film industry keenly.

"I know Dhanush and Dulquer (Salmaan) because I've seen their work. I also know Allu Arjun and Vijay, I have seen the Hindi dubbed version of their films on television," she said.

Talking about why she signed the film, Aanchal explained: "The first time I just heard the crux of the story and I really found it interesting. But when I heard the narration, I realised this is the type of cinema I wanted to do. While the script was amazing, what I had to do was like a cherry on the cake."
While she remains tight-lipped about her character, while promising there was more to it than just singing and dancing, Aanchal said she wants to experiment with different characters.

"As an actor, I'm well aware of what I'm capable of doing. I have been playing a variety of characters from a young age on television. As a kid, I have even played a ghost and a negative character. Imagine your character not being part of the film and if the story can still go on, it means your role has no value. I want to be part of stories which can't move forward without my character."
