Mumbai, Oct 28 : Country's leading oral care products manufacturer Colgate-Palmolive (India) Ltd on Friday posted a 16 percent increase in its net profit to Rs 181.31 crore during the quarter ended September as compared to Rs 156.85 crore in the same period last year.

Net sales during the quarter under review were at Rs 1,195 crore, up 10 percent from Rs 1,088 crore in the year ago period.

The company maintained its leadership position in toothpaste and toothbrush categories in January-September 2016 period, with volume market share in toothpaste category at 55.7 percent and in the toothbrush category at 46.6 percent. Volume growth was 4 percent for the quarter.

"Despite of slowing market conditions, Colgate maintains its leadership position and continues to offer customised products for each market segment," said company's Managing Director Issam Bachaalani.
