New Delhi, Aug 17 : A court here on Monday asked an official of the state election commission to bring the affidavit of AAP legislator Bhavna Gaur filed during the 2013 Delhi election while hearing a complaint against her for allegedly misrepresenting facts about her educational qualifications.
Metropolitan Magistrate Pankaj Sharma listed the matter for September 10 after an official of the election commission said he had not brought the affidavit.
The court was hearing a complaint filed by lawyer Samarendra Nath Verma against the Aam Aadmi Party legislator from Palam assembly constituency.
The official, who was called for examination as the complainant's witness, told the court that he only brought the affidavit filed by Gaur during the 2015 election.
Complainant Verma apprised the court that he filed the complaint against Gaur for furnishing different information about her educational qualifications in her two election affidavits -- in 2013 and 2015.
He said the difference in the affidavits can only be verified if they are examined together.
According to the complaint, Gaur in 2013 claimed to be Class 12 pass, but in the 2015 affidavit, she mentioned that she was a Delhi University graduate and holding a Bachelor of Education degree from Maharshi Dayanand University in Rohtak, the petitioner claimed.
The petitioner sought action against Gaur for offences under the Representation of the People Act.
