Chennai, Dec 20 : Having already sealed the Championship in the Pro-Stock category, the Bengaluru pair of Chidananda Murthy and navigator B.S. Sujith Kumar of Tata Motors are keen to finish the 2014 FMSCI Indian National TSD Rally Championship on a high in the MRF-MMSC Rally, the ninth and concluding round of the series, to be run here Sunday.

Meanwhile, in the Pro-Expert category, it will be a straight fight between Championship leaders Kolkata's Ajgar Ali and navigator Mohammad Musthafa (Erode) of Tata Motors (148 points) and Erode's Karthick Maruthi and Sankar Anand (144).

Trailing the top two pairs are Tata Motors' Ganesh Moorthy and T Nagarajan who have 110 points.

While Murthy and Sujith Kumar have won six of the eight rounds thus far, Ajgar Ali and Maruthi have topped in three apiece to set the stage for an exciting battle.

"It will be special to win the Chennai round too and establish ourselves as the undisputed leaders in the Pro Stock category. We will give it our best shot," said Murthy.

Sujith Kumar said: "Despite having won six rounds, we are hungry for more success and we are keen on winning here on Sunday."
The second entry from Team Tata Motors in the Pro Stock category is the Kolkata crew of Saurav Chatterjee and Ashoke Kumar Basu who are assured of finishing second in the championship as they are on 143 points.

Team Tata Motors will also field an all-woman crew of Sheena Sabharwal and Prathibha Anand in the Ladies class.

The Madras Motor Sports Club has laid out what promises to be a tricky route which will be a mix of tarmac and dirt near the MMRT race track in Sriperumbudur, on the outskirts of the city.

Clerk of the Course Manoj Dalal said here Saturday that the National championship competitors will be covering about 116 kms, part of which will be run around the MMRT race track.
