Shimla, Sep 20 : Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Virbhadra Singh Saturday issued directions that toilets should be constructed in all schools in the state within two months.

"The toilets should be constructed in all schools right from primary to senior secondary schools," an official statement quoting the chief minister said.

He said the construction of the toilets should be completed within two months.

"I don't want a single school in the state to be without a toilet. The education department should construct these toilets and separate toilets to be constructed for the girls," he said.

Presiding over the review meeting of the 20 Point Programme here, the chief minister expressed concern over the delay in execution of major works.

He asked the officers of irrigation and public health, public works department and state electricity board to blacklist those contractors for five years who failed to complete the allotted work within the given time frame.

The chief minister issued directions to expedite the work on the channelisation of the Pabbar river in Shimla district and widening work of the Rohru-Chairgaon road.
