New Delhi, July 18 : There is no proposal at present to export the indigenous Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) or BrahMos missile, parliament was told Friday.

"There are no proposals at present to export the Light Combat Aircraft (LCA) Tejas and BrahMos supersonic cruise missile," Jaitley told the Lok Sabha in a written reply.

However, Jaitley added that both Tejas and BrahMos are "export-worthy products" but presently the "production facilities are being used for indigenous requirements".

"Government has always supported and encouraged boosting up of domestic defence equipment and weapons. Provisions have already been made in Defence Procurement Procedure-2013 to encourage indigenous defence products," he said.

Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) chief Avinash Chander had recently advocated a policy mechanism for exporting weapon systems and sale of arms to friendly countries.
