Ahmedabad, March 7 : Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Arvind Kejriwal was Friday stopped while he was on his way to meet Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi here.

Police asked him if he had an appointment to meet Modi.

Speaking to the media, Delhi's former chief minister said his party colleague, Manish Sisodia, had gone to seek an appointment.

"We are also the 'aam janta' (common man) of this country. If the person who dreams of becoming the prime minister does not want to meet us, then what can we do?" Kejriwal asked.

Asked why he had been stopped, Kejriwal, on a "study" tour of Gujarat, said he was told that Modi had no time to meet him.
