Indian equities are trading on positive note on Tuesday led by oil & gas, banking and capital goods stocks.

At 2.53 p.m., the Sensex was trading up 331.43 points or 1.32% at 25,521.91 with 22 components gaining.

Meanwhile, the Nifty was trading higher by 76.05 points or 1.01% at 7,609.60 with 42 components gaining.

The Oil & Gas index was at 11,623.90, up by 258.49 points or by 2.27%. The Bankex index was at 17,577.65, up by 357.06 points or by 2.07%. The Capital Goods index was at 15,982.82, up by 309.29 points or by 1.97%.

Market breadth was positive with 1,791 advances against 1,198 declines.

Reliance Capital topped the value chart on the BSE with a turnover of Rs. 644.04 million.
