HMSI has launched a new service initiative to reach out to its customers in remote areas. Called Service on Wheels (SoW), the initiative will provide customers the choice of servicing their Honda two-wheeler at their home. A Honda Activa modified to hold a tool box will be the choice of wheels for the trained professionals who will be attending the calls.The SoW Activa will be available at all of Hondas 782 dealerships in the country by the end of March 2014. Honda is basically targeting the remote rural populace with this initiative, but the scheme also covers those living in urban areas butdon't have of a service centre nearby.The Japanese company aims to have around 2,700 touch points in the country by the end of the fiscal year 2013-14. HMSI will not charge the customer any extra fee for the assistance except for what is the regular service cost.
