WNS acquires US healthcare services firm Healthhelp for $95 mn

Business process management firm WNS today acquired Healthhelp, an American company that is into the healthcare segment, for USD 95 million.

WNS chief executive Keshav Murugesh said the acquisition will help strengthen the company's end-to-end offerings in the healthcare and insurance segments and also offer cross-sell opportunities.

Healthhelp works with both payers and providers to help improve patient outcomes and drive long-term sustainable cost savings for the healthcare industry, the company said in a statement.

It works in radiology, cardiology, oncology, sleep care, orthopedics, and pain management and 70 per cent of the assessments are done automatically with the help of clinical decision support technology platform, WNS said.

The statement said the USD 95 million deal excludes adjustments for cash, debt and working capital, and will be funded through long-term debt.

The deal is expected to contribute USD 2.3 million in incremental revenue for WNS for the current fiscal ending March, excluding USD 1.4 million in transaction costs.

Healthhelp was founded in 1999 and is based in Houston, Texas and employs around 400.
