Whirlpool of India on Wednesday opened its exclusive Built-in Showroom, 'Whirlpool Haute Kitchen' in the city, first in Tamil Nadu and second in the country. The company will open another eight such showrooms across the country by September-end, two senior company officials said. After successful opening of the exclusive built-in showroom in Bengaluru early this year, this is the second such outlet, which brings the best of European styling and functionality offering a complete range of built-in products from built-in hobs to wine cooler, Rajiv Kapur, Vice-president, New Business and Consumer interface, Whirlpool of India, told reporters.

The company wanted to reach a turnover from the built-in appliance from the current Rs.25 crore to Rs.30 crore to Rs 100 crore by 2018, with a year-on-year growth of 30 percent, Kapur said. Stating that growing trend in modular kitchen augured well for these stylish and glamorous appliances, Shantanu Das Gupta, vice-president, Corporate Affairs and Strategy, said that manufactured in Europe, this range was as international and contemporary as it can get. With the growing demand of Whirlpool range of built-in kitchen appliances in India, it was imperative for the company to have a stand-alone store where homemakers can experience the whole range of its full glory and functional form, Gupta said.
