Inox Wind in pact with Gujarat for 700 MW wind capacity

Inox Wind has signed a Rs 4,500 crore preliminary pact with the Gujarat government. "Inox Wind has signed an MoU with Gujarat Government entailing an investment of Rs 4,500 crore to set up about 700 MW wind capacity in Gujarat," the company said in a statement. The company has an order book of 1,258 MW as of December 31, 2014. 

Customers include Green Infra, Continuum Wind Energy, Tata Power Renewable Energy, Welspun Energy, Bhilwara Energy, ReNew Power Ventures, Hero Future Energies and a subsidiary of CESC. The MoU will be implemented over next two years in three districts of Gujarat - Rajkot, Amreli and Kutch.INOX Wind is also setting up amongst the world’s largest single location integrated wind turbine manufacturing facility complexes in Madhya Pradesh where it will be manufacturing Nacelles (800 MW capacity), hubs, blades (800 MW capacity) and towers (800 MW capacity).

The facility spread over 45 acress of land is bigger than each of the other standalone manufacturing facilities of INOX in Una (HP) and Rohika (Gujarat).

Within 5 years of operations, the Company has expanded and is developing projects in five states of India (Gujarat, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra & Andhra Pradesh).
