After wine, cocoa and cars, premium water is the next luxury good.

A Beverly Hills 9OH2O luxury edition of bottled water has hit the market with an unbelievable price tag of Rs 65 lakh.

While many in India don't have access to clean drinking water, even a bottle of Qua’s Himalayan water, priced at Rs 50 for a 1-litre bottle, is expensive.

Beverly Hills 9OH2O Diamond Edition

Beverly Hills 9OH2O offers the world’s most expensive bottle of water in its diamond edition. The edition is limited with only nine 1-litre bottles available, each priced at USD 100,000, or Rs 65 lakh. Containing “master crafted” spring water from Beverly Hills, the bottles are designed by celebrity Jeweler Mario Padilla.

Each exquisite bottle of this luxury water contains a white gold cap studded with a total of 14 karats diamonds — 600 G/VS white diamonds and over 250 black diamonds. Each bottle also comes in a case with four Baccarat crystal tumblers.

It is marketed, like other luxury editions from the brand, as “The Beverly Hills Lifestyle in a Bottle”.

Acqua Di Cristallo Tributo a Modigliani

The second most costly bottle of water is called Acqua Di Cristallo Tributo a Modigliani, priced at a whopping USD 60,000 for 750 ml. The bottle, designed by Fernando Altamirano, is a tribute to French artist Modigliani, as suggested by the name.

The bottle’s design is inspired by Modigliani’s famous style of painting elongated human faces.

The bottle is made from 24-karat solid gold, and has a matte variation. The water, sourced either from France or Fiji, contains gold dust in it.

Kona Nigari

The third on the list is Kona Nigari water, priced at USD 402 per bottle of 750 ml. The manufacturers claim this water improves skin, hydrates better than spring water, and contains “deep ocean electrolytes”.

“Kona Deep has a unique blend of electrolytes and trace minerals that come directly from the ocean,” the product’s description states.

Electrolytes are indeed important for our body, but USD 402 might a bit too much for that. But the import is gained by Kona water is in how it is sourced, as the presentation or bottle is nothing unique.

The company says Kona’s water has its origin in the “deep ocean current, 3000’ below the surface in one of the most remote and protected archipelagos in the world.”

The water is supposedly from the same one that comes from a natural melting of glaciers in Greenland and Iceland, which then goes to the ocean floor and makes a 1000-year journey to arrive at the coast of Hawaii.
