Kathmandu: Prime Minister today made a very inspired spech at SAARC sumit in Nepal where he mentioned India's pained over Mumbai attack of 26/11. He advocated the need for SAARC countries to join hands to combat terrorism and trans-national crimes.

Addressing the heads of state of SAARC countries, Narendra Modi said," a prosperous SAARC needs the strong foundation of a secure South Asia. Today, as we remember the horror of the terror attack in Mumbai in 2008, we feel the endless pain of lost lives. Let us work together to fulfil the pledge we have taken to combat terrorism and trans-national crimes".

Making a stateman like speech, Modi said that the huge tade surplus that India has with SAARC countries in neither right nor sustainable.

"India has huge trade surplus with SAARC countries. I believe that this is neither right nor sustainable," said Modi.

"We must shrink the distance between our producers and consumers and use the most direct routes of trade.I know India has to lead and we will do our part.. hope, each of you will, too," added Modi.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also announced the launch of a satellite for the SAARC region in 2016.

"We plan to launch our satellite for the SAARC region by the SAARC Day in 2016. We must work with compassion of our hearts, but also with the power of science," said Modi.

Modi said India's gift of a satellite for the SAARC region "will benefit us".
