Mumbai: The father of Atomic Programs in India Dr. Homi Jahangir Bhabha's bungalow situated in Malabar Hill finally sold out today. NCPA  finally sold out this bunglow at a cost of Rs 372 crore.Though the BRC workers and several scientists tried to protest against the bidding but could not succeed in doing so.


Stretched across 17,990 sq ft in Malabar region ,NCPA (National Centre for Performing Arts) finally sold the the bungalow to the private bidder for Rs 372 crore.There were total 7 bidder for the bid but due to small controversy only 3 bidder manage to make a bid and sold the bunglow afor Rs 372 crore.As par the request of the winning bidder his identity has been kept secret and NCPA refused to disclose it at any cost.

The Chairman of NCPA Khusro Santuk said that Homi J Bhabha had 1/3 share in the bungalow which after his deat went on his brother Jamshedji Tata. Jamshedji tata in his will has mentioned that after his death the bungalow should be sold out and the money generated from it should be used in the development of NCPA.We have just done what Jamshedji had disclosed in his will.

NCPA also said that the money generated from the bid will be used to develop the NCPA into a International level Centre.

The workers of the BARC (Bhabha Atomic Research Centre) and Tata Institute of fundamental Research Centre today protsted against the bidding but did not manage to succeed much.

Earlier several scientists also tried to stop the bidding.On 26 june two workers of the BARC had filed a petition in the court to stop the bidding. But the court maintained on its stand which resulted finally in auction of Dr.Bhabha's bungalow. However the petition filed in this case will be heard on 23 june.
