New Delhi: Clad in a sports jacket, Priyanka Chopra was all set for her another round of promotion and this time it was here at India TV Broadcast Centre. Venturing from channel to channel with a least break to her muscles, the actress looked all refreshing ready to take on another promotional shoot.

No wonder she is leaving no stone unturned to make ‘Mary Kom' reach to a wider audience like a true athlete. Though, she is struggling with her voice as she replies to one of the producers who wishes her to display her singing prowess, ‘I can't sing on the show as I am sounding like a man right now', but has enough other tricks up her sleeves to entertain audience.

Just before Priyanka prepares herself to get into the studio with athlete Mary Kom, she gently finds few minutes for a quick questionnaire and I put my first question before her.

Q. Mary Kom was the last script your dad heard and he advised that don't play it like a typical Bollywood heroine?

Ans. It was a usual talk on the table as my mom and dad discussed their work plan for the day and I used to put my mine before them. He suddenly said so and I was a bit surprised because I am a heroine so I have to play my role. But it was that the role required me to go beyond a typical heroine in the flick. Also my mom and dad are quiet athletic so it encouraged me to work hard as a boxer.

Q. So do you feel that you stood up to your father's expectations?

Ans. I don't know, you all will tell once it releases this Friday.

Q. Earlier this year it was Queen and Mardaani, the women-oriented flicks, which proved a hit at box office, do you think Mary Kom will leave them behind?

Ans. I can't say for what would be the box office result. But it's good to display more and more of women empowerment in flicks like these. Moreover, it's about a self-belief and determination. “Agar kuch haasil karna hai aur thaan li hai, to hame koi rok nahi sakta.”

Q Tell us about your experience working in ‘Dil Dhadakne Do' which is mostly shot on a cruise.

Ans. It was amazing, it was like a big vacation for me. Zoya Akhtar is like a ‘revolution' and the way she sets things, is phenomenal.

Q Who among the three actors Farhan Akhtar, Ranveer Singh and Anil Kapoor was most amusing?

Ans. ‘Anil Kapoor', she gives no second thought to it while replying to this question. “Throughout he was a fun-cracker. And we all on the sets wanted to be Jr. AK. He shared jokes like anything and was amazing”.

Ending our little conversation she clicks a few snap with fans around and ventures towards the studio.

We wish her all the best for Mary Kom which will hit this Friday on September 5th.
