New Delhi: Ever since Jaya Bachchan made 'non-sensical' comment for Shah Rukh Khan starrer Happy New Year, it is creating ripples in the industry..

The actress-turned-politician spoke ill about the film that stars her own son Abhishek Bachchan, and Shah Rukh Khan, at a recent literary event held in Mumbai.

The festival authorities where Jaya made the famous comment released a statement saying that the comment was made in good humour and was taken out of context by the tabloids. SRK also made known his stand on this by tweeting about the incident, which he mentioned was wrongly reported.

The director of the film, Farah Khan was silent about the issue but in a recent interview to a leading entertainment website Farah spoke at length about the whole incident. She said, "Jayaji should definitely sue the publications because it is her name that is being maligned and she's getting the maximum flak from the statement. But it's exactly what she had told us the night before, at SRK's birthday party."

"She told me that she enjoyed the movie thoroughly. And she said it was after 'Amar Akbar Antony'..she used these words...she said, 'its the most entertaining and nonsensically entertaining movie'...which I did not understand what she meant. But she compared it to 'Amar Akbar Antony' and I said I am taking it as a compliment. Because, I am sure when Amar Akbar Antony released, everyone must have said it's a nonsensical movie. And now it's a classic. A cult, classic movie that we all refer to and say 'Amar Akbar Antony' is quintessential Bollywood. That's what she meant in her own way."

She also added, "We all have to be careful with what kind of words we use because it is a very dangerous game now."

Farah in an interview with an online portal informed that she was okay about the comment as she knew that Jaya Bachchan didn't mean what the reports were claiming it to be.

She informed that Jaya had personally met her after seeing the film and told her that Happy New Year was as nonsensical as Amar Akbar Anthony, which in the present day is considered a classic cult. Farah informs that Jaya meant that both these films were equally entertaining and brainless.

Farah also suggested that Jaya should sue the publication who came up with the report as she felt it was an infringement of privacy.

Well, whatever is being said for Happy New year, the movie has minted more than Rs 350 crore worldwide.
