There is a myriad of tweets and video responses relating to Jallikattu that are out on the world wide web. Gone are the days when celebs shy away from public and political issues. Initiatives from a lot of Kollywood's big names have played an active role in ameliorating support for the bull taming sport that has stood the test of time.

Last week, veteran actor Sathyaraj joined a protest at Chepauk, Chennai, organized by a political party, sharing the same ideals of supporting the traditional event.

Among other things, Sathyaraj said that the it was wrongful of PETA to consider 'Yeruthazhuvuthal' as a form of animal cruelty, and it was a red herring since there were other serious issues that go unnoticed.

A well known admirer of EVR Periyar and his Dravidian Movement. Sathyaraj touched the topic of women's participation in Jallkattu which has not been discussed by anyone in the popular debates about the sport event. .

The actor truly believes that even women could possibly compete in the sport, if and only if they had the inclination. He said that the sport has no limitations by gender and questioned, "Women are driving aeroplanes, busses and trucks. They win medals in wrestling and boxing. Why shouldn't they participate in Jallikattu if they were willing to? ", the 'Baahubali' actor asked.

These unique remarks from the popular South Indian film star will probably pique the attention of the readers, mainly the fairer sex.
