The legal notice sent by Isaignani Ilaiayraja to singer SPB against singing the songs composed by him has become a raging debate with fans placing themselves on the either said of the argument.

Despite the differences between those supporting and opposing Ilaiyaraja's action of sending legal notice to his long time friend and colleague SPB, what has pained all the movie buffs and music lovers is that this might have caused a strain in the friendship between the two legends and they may not work together again. It is to be noted that after receiving the notice SPB has announced that henceforth he will not sing the songs composed by Ilaiyaraja in concerts. The general apprehension that what if this is extended to films as well and this fear cannot be ignored.

Attempts have started to soothe tensions between the two camps. Gangai Amaren the younger brother of Ilaiyaraja who vehemently opposed Ilaiyaraja's claim over copyrights for his songs later said that Raja and SPB will be talking with each other and a solution for the issue can be expected soon.

Now it is reliably learnt that Vishal, the General Secretary of the Nadigar Sangam has been planning to conduct a grand musical event to felicitate the Isaignani and many singers including SPB will be invited to sing in this event. This seems to be intended to cool down the controversy by making the two legends appear together on the dais.
